Effective February 1, 2023
The Federal Trade Commission has issued regulations that require firms like ours to provide current and prospective clients with a statement of our privacy policies. Our policy follows:
Our mission is to provide our clients with a world class concierge level quality of service. In order to provide this, we at times need to share your information internally across our team. When you retain the services of our firm, you retain the services of the entire team, not just one person. We find having an entire team at your disposal leads to faster turnaround times and a higher level of personalized service for our clients than what is available with old school accounting firms. When your information is shared internally, it is shared on a need-to-know basis in order to complete any work you have retained our firm to do on your behalf. When we do so, your information is always shared with the utmost security and confidentiality. By providing your personal data to us, you acknowledge and agree that your data may be shared between and/or processed by any and all members of our team.
Our team members are located in the United States of America. We do not offshore any work or services. When you retain the services of our firm, your information is not handled by someone halfway around the world in another time zone, it is handled by someone in this country who can be reached with a simple phone call, email, or video chat during the same normal business hours you are already accustomed to. Much like your business is local and serves the local community, our business does the same. Our cloud servers are located onshore in the United States, utilize state of the art bank level encrypted security, and are maintained 24/7/365 by IT professionals located in the United States.
Our firm will not disclose your personal information to any third party outside of our firm without express written permission from you unless we are legally required to do so. Examples of third parties can include, but are not limited to, sharing your information with an SBA lender, mortgage banker, financial advisor, or outside consultant. In the event you wish the information to be shared, we will ask you to provide that request in writing prior to your information being released.
Advisor-Client Privileged Communication
Please be aware that any information you provide us while we are engaged in any tax, accounting, advisory, or consulting service is confidential, but is not legally protected from the IRS. The only privileged information and communications which are protected from IRS authority to compel our testimony are limited to non-criminal tax proceedings in federal court or non-criminal tax advice on matters before the IRS. While we treat all information you provide us as confidential, our engagements are not covered by any sort of advisor-client privilege. If you may be in a situation where you feel the nature and scope of any subject relevant to your personal situation may require protected attorney-client privilege, then please alert us immediately as you may have a need to stop and consult with an attorney for legal advice before moving forward. We do not and cannot provide legal advice as we are your accounting firm, not your law firm.
Collection of personal data
In order to complete any work you have retained our firm to do on your behalf, we may collect the following information from you such as, though not limited to, your full legal name, email address, mailing address, phone/fax numbers, date of birth, gender, payment information, employment information, social security number (SSN), employment identification number (EIN), individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN), bank statements, credit card statements, investment account statements, and business financial statements. You are not required to provide us with all the personal data listed above, but if you do not, then we may not be able to effectively provide you with any services you have retained us to perform.
It is your responsibility to review and understand this Privacy Policy prior to providing your personal data to us. If you do not accept and agree to our Privacy Policy, then please refrain from providing your personal and business information to us, accessing our website and secure portal, and/or utilizing our products and services.
As our services evolve and/or regulations change, our Privacy Policy will be updated from time to time. Whenever there are changes, the posted Privacy Policy will be posted on our website along with a date of any updates and will be immediately effective as of that date.
